This post shows you the best outdoor garden decor flower pots.

If you’re someone like me and cannot get enough colour, try changing out boring old plain planters for unique patterns and textures to create your very own garden gallery!
It’s really easy AND can be budget-friendly. Most of the best planters I have found have been dug up from junk yard sales and/or op shops.
Use the following as fun inspiration then go find some awesome pieces that give your garden some character.
1. Re-Purpose Tin

Swap out your plastic planters for some old tin buckets or watering cans.
They add a real rustic vibe to your garden and be paired with ANY coloured flower.
If you want to create a focal point in your garden, try adding wood (like this ladder) to create an eclectic look that enhances the aesthetic. The contrast given from the combination of natural wood and weathered tin can add texture, warmth and visual depth to your garden space.
2. Use Your Window

Use pots that can be fixed onto your window sill.
Not only does it optimise space in your garden, but it also adds colour to one of the most boring spots in the house. It can create a charming visual element that softens the looks of windows and can enhance the curb appeal of your house.
There are plenty of window boxes to choose from, but I always love to contrast colours. I love the earthy brown and black coordination in the image above. Contrast ALWAYS makes a garden interesting.
3. Use An Old Chair

Grab your painting clothes and paint an old piece of furniture to place your flowers on.
If you are more of a simple pot person, no problem. Maybe your focus should then turn to where you put those pots. Elevating your flower pots can create a more visually appealing display.
You can easily personalise the chair by painting it any colour or adding decorative elements. Plus, they add a charming, vintage looks to your space.
4. Hang Them Up

Opt for hanging pot plants for small gardens or patios where ground space is limited.
You can hang them in clusters, paint them, contrast colours. If you’re someone you cannot be bothered with a garden wall, these take less effort to put up.
You can mix varying plants to create a vibrant look PLUS customise pot plants to add more visual interest.
5. Focus on Placement

Hanging pot placement can affect the overall aesthetic of your garden.
Arranging them at different heights and in clusters can create a more dynamic and attractive display.
If they are placed too close, they could compete for air and light so make sure to give them enough space so their growth isn’t stunted.
6. Put Them In Furniture

What’s better than putting them on a chair? Planting them IN a chair!
Planting them in old chairs is a creative way to repurpose items and add unique charm to your space.
Just make sure to choose furniture that can hold soil and provide proper drainage.
7. Antiques

Build character with antiques!
Planting flowers in antiques is a wonderful way to breathe new life into cherished pieces, creating a beautiful contrast between the vintage character of an item and the vibrant colours of the flowers.
I often find however that less is more. You want to showcase their beauty, so don’t raise the competition by adding loads of antique pots.
8. Collage Your Pots

Compose a work of art with your pots.
Collaging flower pots create a visually striking and dynamic display, allowing for mixed colours, textures and plant varieties.
Just remember to mix in some flowers that get along well, like best buds at a party, so they can all thrive together and keep the good vibes going!
9. Colour Match

Who doesn’t love to harmonise their colours?
Consider dominant colours in the garden or home and choose pots that either blend seamlessly.
If you want to try something fun, try matching your pot to a wall and hang it up. When you step back, both should blend well enough that it creates an illusion of floating flowers!
10. Crochet

If you want to add a coastal bohemian flair to your garden try crochet!
Planting flowers in crochet pots is stunning. It creates a warm, homey vibe that showcases the delicate artistry! For a fun twist, try using brightly coloured yarn to match the flowers, or add embellishments, like beads.
11. Create a Vertical Garden

Now’s the time to whip out those planks of wood you’ve got in the shed.
Nailing flower pots to wooden panels creates a vertical garden that saves space whilst adding a charm and visual interest to your walls.
Mix and match different pot sizes and colours, or even paint the wooden panels to make your floral display pop!
12. Teapot

If your a lover of tea but have too many pots to keep up with, use them for something else.
Planting flowers in teapots transforms everyday kitchenwares into whimsical planters, adding a touch of nostalgia and charm to your garden decor.
If you’re feeling creative, grab some waterproof paint and use stencils to create fun designs! Paint the handle a different colour to the body or change the entire thing!
13. Create An Eclectic Display

You can up-cycle almost anything for flower pots. Just make sure they have proper drainage!
Why not combine everything I’ve shown you thus far to create a display that adds both character and depth to your space? You can EASILY personalise the display that reflects your unique style, making an arrangement feel like a piece of art.
Consider using teacups alongside traditional pots or incorporating colourful painted jars.
14. Nothing Wrong With Plain

The thing about basic clothing is that you get to have fun accessorising. The same is for decorating your garden.
Doing so allows the vibrant colours and intricate shapes of the flowers to stand out, transforming the simplicity of the pots into a beautiful backdrop.
For a fun creative tip, try wrapping plan pots with twine or fabric for a rustic look.
15. Raised Garden Bed

If you prefer to a more organised and defined space that still enhances visibility, try raised garden beds.
Elevate your beauties! Show them off to the world! They’ll thank you for it with more vibrant and robust blooms (because of better air circulation and sunlight exposure).
Try adding colourful edging materials or mix in decorative stone or mulch to add texture and contrast to your vibrant flowers.
16. Clash Aesthetics

Make it bold! Surprise people by clashing aesthetics.
Mix different themes to lead to unexpected but beautiful combinations. Just be sure to have a through line for a cohesive vibe, like a colour of texture.
Consider using a mix of wildflowers and climbing plants to add texture. Or even paint the post in a vibrant coloir to make the arrangement pop!
17. Make it Weird

The easiest way to add charm to your garden is to pick weird pieces.
Doing so creates a playful, inviting space, making it a delightful conversation starter whilst showcasing your personality. My Mum has a eleven year old posing frog pot in her vegetable garden. It still makes me giggle.
You could use a toilet seat as a planter- just attach it to a post and fill it with colourful flowers for a hilarious and unexpected focal point.
18. Opt for Decorative Objects

There’s a certain charm that comes with a bicycle in the garden.
Whether it’s nostalgia or romance, their cheerful baskets of flowers are the perfect addition to accent a bland backyard that just needs a special “something”.
Try filling the bike’s basket with cascading petunias or colourful pansies. You could even hang small pots from the handlebars!
